Monet Tillman Horsey
Monet started dance and gymnastics at the age of 3. She was a competitive gymnast for 7 years and had the opportunity to train and compete in the “1989 Friendship Competition” in Moscow, Russia. She was a high school cheerleader for 4 years, being named twice the All-American Cheerleader. She had the opportunity to cheer in the Peach Bowl in Atlanta, GA, Delaware’s annual Blue/Gold Football Game, and University of Delaware freshman year.
Monet has been a gymnastics instructor for 23 years and has always had a passion for working with children. She has taught pre-school gymnastics, girls’ beginner through advanced gymnastics, tumbling, cheer tumbling, acro and has assisted in coaching the Junior Olympic women’s competitive team.
Monet is CPR/First Aid/ AED certified and has completed the State of Delaware’s Concussion Training requirement. She is also safety certified through the USAG Women’s Gymnastics Program.
Monet is married with 3 children of her own. She has a 25 year old daughter, who is a graduate and former competitive gymnast of the University of Maryland and now Co-Head Coach alongside of her mother, a 21 year old son and a 8 year old daughter. Monet also has 3 stepchildren.
Monet previously taught private lessons out of her home, which expanded to the opening of her gymnastics facility, “Dream Chasers Gymnastics” , which began May 2017.
Because of her faith in God, her dreams have become a reality. She is grateful for the support of her husband, children and parents. “I am looking forward to continuing my journey, working with young people, not only as a gymnastics coach, but also as a mentor to encourage them to fulfill their dreams."
